Joining forces with direct care and support professionals from across the state, we foster the exchange of valuable experiences, nurture leadership and advocacy skills, and influence policy decisions that can revolutionize direct care roles.

The Council’s objective is to inspire fellow direct care workers and champion vital workforce initiatives in Maine, shaping the future of direct care and ensuring the voices of those on the front lines are heard and valued.

Meet our Council Members.

Council members work in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted housing (including residential care, assisted living, and home care) throughout the state. Some are new to the profession of providing direct care and support, while others boast years of experience. Together, their collective voice plays a vital role in influencing and shaping policy decisions on issues that matter most to them and thousands of direct care and support professionals across Maine.

Let’s work together and use our voices for the people who we take care of. They need us to speak up for them and create positive change for everyone involved.
